ABOUT ANDY ENGLISH

Andy English (SAG-AFTRA/AEA) is a New York actor and Brooklyn-based acting coach born and raised in South Louisiana. His TV credits include The Blacklist (NBC), First Wives Club (BET+), Broad City (Comedy Central), Seven Seconds (Netflix), and Person of Interest (CBS), among others. He has been seen in a number of independent films, including Remember When, opposite Shakira Barrera, and is currently producing the LGBTQ+ short film Else/Where. English has a strong background in theatre and his NYC credits include performances at LaMaMa, The Culture Project, Main Street Theater & Dance, REV Theater Company, Red Shark, and Nylon Fusion. He holds an MFA from The Shakespeare Theater Company’s Academy for Classical Acting, a Certificate of Acting from The Royal Acadamy of Dramatic Art in London, and a BA in Theater from Louisiana State University.


With decades of work on regional stages throughout the US, English has performed at The Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, DC, Ford’s Theater, Bay Street Theater, the Tennessee Williams Festival, Southern Rep, Virginia Shakespeare Festival, Swine Palace, Playmakers Theatre, and the Colonial Theater of Rhode Island. 


As an educator, English has taught a variety of on-camera acting and theatre workshops across the US, including John Robert Powers Studio in New Orleans, the Comedy Conservatory, and Theater Arts Outreach with Jefferson Performing Arts Center. In Washington, DC, he taught Shakespeare Scene Study and Monologue Workshops with The Shakespeare Theater Company and Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD, where he also directed a production of Hamlet.
